Concourse does not encourage the embedding of videos in syllabi. The practice tends to create problems when it comes to generating PDF versions of syllabi for printing or archiving, and many videos do not meet accessibility requirements - an important part of our platform. We recommend posting links to videos on third-party platforms rather than embedding them. The HTML editor in Concourse does allow for embedding videos, however, though it is limited to videos uploaded to YouTube.
YouTube videos can be embedded into any rich text field. To embed such a video simply:
- Select an existing or upload the video onto YouTube.
- Locate the Embed option that can be found underneath Share.
- Copy the embed code.
- Click the HTML button above the rich text field in the edit item dialog of Concourse.
- Paste the embed code in the pop-up and click Update.
- Save the item.
