A: There are two cases by which recreating a course already in a feed may be desired. One is that the course was originally cloned from one template and you want to use another. The second is if you need to switch between a structured and unstructured (upload-only) course. Both of these cannot be changed by simply processing an updated feed these parameters can only be selected upon initial creation.
The easiest way to recreate a course is to manually Mark [the Course] for Deletion the course from the Course > Settings page. You should then completely remove the course from the system from the Purge Courses area. Then when the feed is rerun, it will be recreated from scratch with the correct parameters.
If however you find that changes have been made to the course already and you do not want to delete it outright so you still have access to the content, you can manually change the external course ID so that it no longer matches the row that is being processed. This is done from the Edit Required Course Information page within the settings of a course. We suggest making the ID (and title) something like DELETE_original_id so that it is easily recognizable for deletion soon after.
*Note: If you decide to change the ID instead of deleting it, users will still be enrolled in the course, meaning they will still see the course on their homepage until it is actually deleted (or they are manually dropped). Further, they will not be automatically enrolled in the new course, so you will need to run the registration feed again to realign users once the course, and its sections, are recreated.
