Last Modified

Concourse provides a last modified date for every course, as well as a date and time for each individual syllabus item. The date and time of modifications are presented in the format chosen by the user in their account preferences (see User Preferences). The course-wide last modified date is listed at the top of each syllabus after “Modified” (see image below). The last modified date of each course also appears in the extended CSV downloads of course-level reports, such as the Item Report.

Item-level last modified details are available in the Syllabus Change Log (Syllabus > Analytics > Changes > View; see image below). The latest item modified date matches the last modified date for the course. The last modified dates for individual items in non-template syllabi are preserved with the Syllabus Change Log for one year after the syllabus's last modification date. The Change Log for template syllabi retain last modified dates for individual items indefinitely or until the course is purged from your system.

The following actions update the last modified date for courses and items:
  1. A syllabus item is saved, even if content has not changed.
  2. Processing a copy or item feed results in updated content.
  3. Items are reordered up or down.
  4. Content is manually copied via the copy to or copy from processes.
  5. Content is changed via cascade (changes to higher-level linked templates)
The following actions do not update the last modified date for courses and items:
  1. Processing a copy or item feed does not result in updated content.
  2. Course metadata is changed (Syllabus > Settings > Course)
  3. Group permissions on the course are changed (Syllabus > Settings > Group)
Alert
Note that copy and item feeds do not update item content when:
  1. The content of the receiving item category is the same.
  2. The content of the item entries is the same.
  3. All item entries appear in the same order.
