MDB2 Error

MDB2 Error

Info
This article will be most useful for System Administrators and IT professionals.

Rarely, a user may receive the error message “MDB2 Error: constraint violation” when attempting to access Concourse syllabi or management pages. This error occurs when there is a disruption, inconsistency, or corruption in a Concourse database. If your Concourse environment presents the MDB2 error, it may not present to all users and may appear in isolated parts of your system.

Resolving the MDB2 error and restoring full Concourse access requires assistance from Team Concourse. If any users at your institution observe an MDB2 error, notify Team Concourse immediately. Send the following information to support@campusconcourse.com:
  1. The name of your institution
  2. The system where the error occurred: sandbox or production
  3. The name and email address of the user who encountered the error
  4. The syllabus or area of the system where the error occurred
  5. What date and time the error occurred
A common path of resolution is to restore the database to its most recent backup. Restoring a Concourse system’s database to its most recent backup means that any changes made to syllabi or the system between the backup time and the restoration is lost. If database restoration is the recommended path forward, every effort will be made to prevent data loss.
