Using Feed Logs

Using Feed Logs

The feed log contains feed files and output reports for system administrators to keep track of the flow of information into Concourse and how the information is behaving in the system. To access the feed log visit  Admin > Tools > Feeds and select the Feed Log button from the feed processing panel.

Your institution's feed log will show all of your recent feeds and associated output reports. This information will provide an overall picture of how feeds are behaving in your system:

Type: The type of feed processed, including:

  • System Data (User, Course, Section, and Registration)
  • Syllabus Copy (Copy Items)
  • Data Removal (Disable User, Mark Course for Deletion, and Drop Registration)
  • Syllabus Content (Meeting Times, Contact Information, Description, Objectives, Outcomes, Materials, Deliverables, Evaluation, Course Policies, Institutional Policies, Additional Items, and Schedule)
  • Delete Locked Items (Meeting Times, Contact Information, Description, Objectives, Outcomes, Materials, Deliverables, Evaluation, Course Policies, Institutional Policies, Additional Items, and Schedule)

File: The name of the file that was processed. Clicking on the Filename will show the entire contents of the original feed file.

Method: The method will either be "Manual," in which case the feed file was manually processed by a system administrator or "Automatic," in which case the feed was processed via feed automation.

User: The user responsible for processing the feed, if uploaded manually.

Received: The date and time the feed was processed. Note that this refers to the start time of the feed processing.

Duration: This length of time it took to process a particular feed in seconds.

Output: The output report for each feed processed. Clicking on Report will show the contents of the output report, including all successful operations as well as any errors. Please refer to our Repository of Feed Errors for feed error details.

Using the Concourse Feed Log should decrease the amount of time necessary to troubleshoot issues related to feed construction and feed processing. Be sure to check out the Concourse Support Center for more valuable information on a variety of feed-specific topics, including how to set up automated feed processing, and many more integration topics!
