Multi-Item Report Release Notes

Multi-Item Report Release Notes

Summary

The Multi-Item Report is available in Snippets and Tabular views. The Snippets view presents content as it appears on syllabi, as a sort of snapshot. The Tabular view presents item content in a table. Both views of the Multi-Item Report allow users to select multiple item categories across a set of syllabi to compare and review content.

Benefits

Previously, users had to generate multiple item reports to acquire all the data they needed for content review. The Multi-Item Report saves reporters time by collating multiple item categories into the same report.

Availability

The Multi-Item Report Snippets and Multi-Item Report Tabular views are both available in sandbox and production environments as of July 2025.

The Multi-Item Report is available to all users. Users can generate a Multi-Item Report containing multiple items on a syllabus set, but they will only be able to view item content that matches their group permissions on each syllabus.

Step-by-Step

To generate a Multi-Item Report:
  1. Navigate to the Concourse Report Center.
  2. Select the Multi-Item Report view you wish to use: Snippets or Tabular.
  3. On the subsequent page, select the item categories that you wish to include in the Multi-Item Report and then Next.
  4. On the following page, enter criteria for the courses/syllabi to be included in the Report and then Search.
    1. For more precise results, select +Advanced to reveal more search parameters.
    2. You can narrow your search by subject, domain, session/year, delivery method, and more.
  5. In the Results pane on the right side of the screen, select the syllabi to include in the Report. Either:
    1. select the syllabi manually by checking the checkbox to the left of the syllabus title and then choosing Selected Results at the bottom of the page, or
    2. scroll to the bottom of the page and choose All Results to generate snippets from all syllabi that match your search criteria.
  6. On the resulting page, you will find item content that matches your search criteria. Snippets will present as an excerpt from each syllabus in your search that contains the categories you selected, and Tabular will present as a table containing the item content.

Interface Changes

The Multi-Item Report Snippets and Tabular appear in the Report Center under Content Reports. There are no additional interface changes related to this feature.

Workflow Differences

Instead of generating several Item Reports to report on syllabus content, users can now generate a single Multi-Item Report in the view that best meets their needs.

Limitations

Users are able to select any item category and syllabi for inclusion in Snippets, regardless of their group and domain permissions. If the user does not have permission to view an item or a syllabus or if the content does not exist, the snippet or table will not display the selected content. As a result, users may be presented with blank snippets or cells, which may be perceived as an error.

If users select a large number of item categories and/or syllabi, it is possible that the report will time out. If this occurs, users should return to the system later and attempt to generate the report again.
