The Statistics Report
The Statistics Report is available only to system administrators. To access the Statistics Report, system admins:
-
Select Reports from the main navigation menu.
-
In the Report Center, locate System Reports.
-
Select View in the Statistics block.
No additional input or action is needed to generate the Statistics Report. The Statistics Report is comprised of six blocks that each summarize a KPI in your system:
-
The Courses block summarizes how many courses are stored in your system, including recently created courses, templates, hidden courses, and courses marked for deletion. This data is helpful for processes like determining whether to purge extraneous courses.
-
The Users block summarizes how many user accounts exist in your system, including recently created users. This block also lists a breakdown of account authentication types and the number of disabled accounts in your system. This data may be helpful for determining some of your user management strategies.
-
The Features block identifies whether specific features are enabled or disabled in your system. Six features are listed, followed by On or Off. If you aren’t sure whether a specific feature–like Audit or Curriculum Vitae–is enabled in your system, consult the Statistics Report. This is a good starting point for determining how you can enhance or streamline platform usage.
-
The Organization block lists the number of each domain type that exists in your system. For example, 7 Campuses, 8 Schools, and 14 Departments. This information is useful for managing domain hierarchy and structure, such as when adding or consolidating domains.
-
The Administrators block identifies the number of system administrators, users who can set domain permissions for other users, and users with domain permissions. This information is helpful for user management, especially as it relates to system security and privacy to ensure that only users who truly need high-level access have it.
-
The Integration block provides data about how your Concourse system receives data from external systems, including the number of LTI consumers deployed in your system, the number of entries in your feed log, and when the most recent feed was processed.
Best Practices and Recommendations
Each institution uses Concourse differently and has different needs for maintenance, so your system maintenance and review schedule may be quarterly, semesterly, or annually. Whether your main maintenance intention is monitoring or optimization, reviewing the Statistics Report is a good place to start. Keep in mind that the Statistics Report is a snapshot and doesn’t provide the full context for your system. If any of the data in the Statistics Report seems unexpected, we recommend that you consult with the rest of the Concourse team at your institution and investigate your system further to learn whether changes should be made to improve usage and functionality.
